A Promising Start to Victory
BC Blind Sports As I left the BC Blind Sports ’ office for the last time, I heard a final horn in my head, as if to signal the end of a hockey game. I smiled and raised my arms victoriously. I survived my six-week professional work experience. In June and July 2023, I was a Communications Assistant for BC Blind Sports, a charitable organization that keeps blind and partially sighted British Columbians active and healthy through encouraging them to join sports or recreational activities and connecting them to healthy lifestyle resources. There, I updated members with event announcements and summaries, improved web contents by proofreading and applying plain language, and increased understanding on blind sports through interviewing and writing articles on member athletes.
